Olomana
Hike one of the most famous hikes in all of Hawaii. This is by far my favorite hike I've ever done. If new to hiking I recommend that you only hike to the first peak because it the trails gets more dangerous the farther you go. There have been reported accidents when people have tried to go to the 3rd peak. This hike is not for beginners.

Kaneana Cave (Makua Cave)
This short hike rewards you with a beautiful view from a cave located in the mountains. The hike is about 45 minutes and it overlooks the Makua region. The trail head is kind of hidden off the side of the road.

Lulumahu Falls
This is the perfect family hike. What I love most about this hike is that, it's not just the destination that's nice, but the enitre journey is amazing. You'll see great views of mountains, valleys, and streams. It's also dog friendly.

Maunawili Falls Trail
If you are into jumping off high ledges into a pool of water, this is a great hike for you. This hike ends with a natural waterfall and freshwater pool that you can swim in. It is dog frinedly, but beware it gets kind of muddy if it was rainy the day before.

Crouching Lion
I loved the view this hike leads to. It's a relatively short hike, but it can be tiring because it is very steep. It is not dog friendly and can be dangerous near the end of the trail because of a lot of ledges.

Hawaii Loa Ridge Trail
I absolutely loved this hike. It is a very peaceful hike in the forest/mountains of Hawaii Kai. Great for average hikers.

Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trail
Great for beginners because the trail is entirely paved. The trail overlooks the ocean and leads to a nice view of some small off shore islands and a popular lighthouse.

Koko Crater Railway Trail
A great view, but a tiring hike. Many locals hike this as their weekly workout. It can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to get to the top, depending on how fit you are. When you get to the top, the view is spectacular and worth the effort.
