Bellecour
From the Spoon & Stable team, Bellecour is a French bistro and daytime bakery serving thoughtful, elegant, but not-too-expensive dishes. I definitely drank the Spoon Kool-Aid and am in love with everything Chef Kaysen sends out of the kitchen, but I have to say Bellecour has exceeded my expectations on several occasions. They're doing a "Friday Burger Night," with a new and unique burger every Friday night in the bar lounge (first come, first served with limited quantities.) Their cocktails are creative and delicious, and the menu is authentic French - I know this because I met this couple from France when I was waiting for my drink at the bar, and they said so themselves. It is a perfect place in the summer, for a cocktail and some frites after a day on Lake Minnetonka. Their patio is secluded and gorgeous as well. During the day, they have a bakery serving fresh breads, pastries, and yummy sandwiches. The atmosphere isn't as magical for me as Spoon's is, but it's just as crowded and filled with hungry, foodies like me. Recommendations: 1. Oeufs Mimosa (deviled eggs) 2. Complementary bread for the table (it will change your life) 3. Moules Frites (mussels) 4. Soupe a L’Oignon (french onion soup) 5. Short Rib on the Bone 6. Pommes Frites (with amazing garlic aioli)

Broders' Pasta Bar
I struggle picking an "all-time favorite" Minneapolis restaurant, but if I had to, Broder's would be it. Yep, I said it. This place is so special to me. I was born a couple blocks from the restaurant, and my parents used to take me in my stroller when I was little. Since then, I've been here dozens and dozens of times, and often choose it for my special birthday dinner. There is ALWAYS a wait, but it's ALWAYS worth it. In the summertime, they have a gorgeous patio with finger food and an outdoor bar... the perfect place to wait out your 1hr+ reservation. In the winter, hop over to Terzo, Broder's sister wine bar spot. Their menu changes very often, but they're willing to make things off menu if you can describe what you're in the mood for. I don't have one negative thing to say about Broder's, and if you go and don't like it, we cannot be friends.

Burch Steak
Burch isn't your typical stuffy steakhouse. The restaurant is housed in an old pharmacy building, and some of the original fixtures still remain. The ceilings are tall and the exposed brick gives this place a rustic feel. The steaks are phenomenal but are almost outshone by the sides. The endive salad with blue cheese is my favorite, and the collection of dumplings is a fan favorite. The basement of Burch is a more low-key pizza bar, but they also serve the full steak menu. My favorite pizza is the Gorgonzola e Mela. (Can you tell I LOVE Gorgonzola?) They also do a good brunch on Sundays. Recommendations: 1. Hangar Steak (affordable!) 2. Bavette Wagyu 3. Schupfnudel, Walnut, Gorgonzola (dumplings) 4. Roasted Carrots, Thyme, Chevre 5.Belgian Endives, Blue Cheese, Bacon 6. Gorgonzola e Mela Pizza (the most amazing pizza in the world)

Barbette
Barbette works with locally farmed ingredients, and you can taste the freshness in the food. They're open all day, and I'd be lying to you if I told you I branch out on what I order each time I go. Their Mussels and Pommes Frites are just too good. Barbette also has a patio to enjoy a glass of white wine in the summer. Recommendations: Brunch 1. Daily quiche Dinner 1. Steamed Mussels with a glass of white wine 2. Pommes Frites

Lowry Hill Meats
Lowry Hill is a great place to pick up a sandwich to eat at your desk at work or to get the ingredients for a killer picnic spread. No frills (besides the trendy, neon MEATS sign), delicious meats, bread, and spreads. They also have delicious breakfast sandwiches, perfect to pick up with a coffee on your way into work. Recommendations: 1. French Exit with Salami, warmed up 2. Turkey Melt 3. Breakfast Sandwich (Saturdays and Sundays only)

The Naughty Greek
This place isn't what you think of when you think of a Greek spot. When I think of a Greek restaurant, I picture a dinky counter service place attached to a gas station. Not Naughty Greek! NG has a beachy vibe, and it's in a great area of St. Paul. They recently opened a second location in St. Paul, that has a larger seating area and the same great menu. The seating space is the Snelling Ave. location is limited, but the tables seem to rotate through quickly. They serve wine in funky, chic glasses and their Greek salad comes with a massive hunk of feta. I loooved the euro... so fresh with the perfect amount of tzatziki sauce. Definitely a great place to go before a Wild game or concert at Xcel. Recommendations: 1. Baked Greek Feta with Drizzled Honey 2. TNG Original Greek Salad 3. Gyros (obviously)

Pizzeria Lola
My oh my I don't have enough time to explain to you my thoughts on Lola. It has a special place in my heart, almost as special as the place Broder's holds. I've spent many nights in the packed restaurant, talking loudly over the crowds of pizza lovers, drinking local craft beers, and eating amazing pizza. Owner Ann Kim knows pizza. She also owns Hello Pizza and the new-ish Young Joni, both serving amazing pizzas and small plates. Lola has the best everything: best Brussel spouts, best salads, and obviously pizzas. If you walk in, there most likely will ALWAYS be a wait, but I encourage you to put your name in, grab a beer from the bar, sit on the patio, and wait. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and while you wait, take your picture in the photo booth and hang it on their epic photo wall towards the back. Recommendations: 1. Organic Mixed Greens Salad 2. My Sha-Roni 3. Sweet Italian (those peppadew peppers!!)

Ramen Kazama
Ramen Kazama is my favorite spot for ramen in the Twin Cities, I can say it definitively. I get their Magma bowl now every time, although I've tried almost all their other bowls. It has sooo much flavor and tastes great with a cold, light beer. The place is crowded, and the atmosphere casual but dimly lit and authentic feeling. If you like ramen, you'll like Kazama. Recommendations: 1. Old School Ramen 2. Magma Ramen (spicy) 3. Gyoza

Revival
Minnesota, great southern food? At Revival, the answer is absolutely. This place does not mess around. Their fried chicken (regular and Tennessee hot) is juicy and buttery and salty and piping hot. Their cheeseburger is in my top 3 of the Twin Cities. And the best part, is Revival has a location in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Their desserts will blow you away (if you can even think about eating food ever again after your meal.) The Minneapolis location only has beer/wine, but the St. Paul location serves creative cocktails that taste great with the food. Go here, and let me know if you feel the same as I do! Recommendations: 1. Cheeseburger (one of the best if not the best in the Twin Cities) 2. Fried Chicken Sandwich 3. Mac and Cheese 4. Any of their pies 5. Fried Green Tomatoes

Birchwood Cafe
This place is always packed...and for a great reason. You order at the counter, and the inside is very casual. The brunch food is top notch as they source from local and organic suppliers. I love the savory waffle - it comes with an assortment of toppings and syrup. The Benedict is also very solid, mostly because the ham was so salty and the texture of the hollandaise was perfection. Recommendations: 1. Savory Waffle 2. Featured Benedict
