Roys Peak
This is no easy hike... 2 hours of straight incline. The top will reward you with breathtaking views of Lake Wanaka, Mount Aspiring and surrounding peaks. We woke up at 3am to make the top by sunrise and it was an rush!

Tongariro Alpine Crossing
Tongariro National Park is the oldest national park in New Zealand and one of the first few to open in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well. The day hike from point A to B is 19.4 KM and took us just over 6 hours to complete. You will hike through volcanic terrain and past emerald blue/green lakes at the top. Think Mordor from Lord of the Rings, which was filmed at Tongariro National Park. When we were there, winds reached a crazy 70mph! It was a challenging day of hiking but so rewarding!

Mount Taranaki
Located on the West side of the Northern Island and home to the towering Mount Taranaki, this area is well worth exploring. Although the Mount Taranaki Summit Track should only be done by the most experienced hikers, there are many other hikes to do in the area.
