Ella
Three nights: It’s time to get off the beach and head to the mountains. Ella is quite possibly the most beautiful mountainous rainforest I have ever visited. There is so much to see and do that even three nights is pushing it. Don’t Miss: 9 Arches Bridge as the Ella train crosses it, Liptons Seat, Ravana’s Falls, Ravana’s Cave, Little Adams Peak, Ella Rock, Tea Plantations, Diyaluma Falls particularly the upper falls, Ella Town, and Buduruvagala stone Buddha.

Sigiriya
Two nights: This is a tough one since the only real attraction that’s worth a visit is the Sigiriya Rock fortress and Dambulla Caves but if you do any search on Sri Lanka, weather it’s from guide books, Google search, Social, you will find amazing pictures of the most popular and magnificent natural beauty in Sri Lanka. The reason I say this is difficult is that it will take a lot of travel time to get from Ella to Sigiriya no matter what sort of transportation you use. On top of that, if you follow this itinerary, you will have another fairly long commute back to Colombo. However, the experience is unmistakably spiritual and well worth the time it takes to get there.

Negombo
One night: It’s time to relax and refresh before heading home or off to your next destination. Find a nice Bungalow, resort or hostel near the beach. Negombo is a convenient 30 mins from the Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) and has one of the best beaches in the greater metropolitan area of Colombo. If you have time check out Negombo beach park, Angurukaramulla Temple, Negombo Lagoon, or one of the many thriving fresh fish markets near the shore.

Colombo
One night: The best advise I can give for Colombo is to leave immediately. That’s not to say their aren’t things to see and do, however, there is so much else to explore that you will leave Sri Lanka with regret that you spent too much time in the city. Best advise is to get in touch with Tuk Tuk Safari and plan a day excursion to the main sights, and you will rarely hear give any recommendations about tours. These guys were extremely good. You can check the video of our tour with them in Colombo: https://youtu.be/IP0l50j1FuE
