Na Pali Coast Hanalei Tours
Home to some of the most beautiful ocean and mountain scenery on earth, the Na Pali coast has been used as a sight for countless Hollywood blockbusters including Pirates of the Caribbean, Avatar, Jurassic World, and many more. It’s jagged cliffs and arch covered coves will blow you away. Although, almost inaccessible by land, a boat tour is the perfect way to enjoy this world wonder. From the month of December through May you might get the added benefit or seeing humpback whales, spinner dolphins and a variety of sea turtles. For the experienced hiker, you can access much of the coast line via the Kalalau trail but it has been considered by many as treacherous and should not be attempted if conditions are not good. Do your research before attempting this 16Km trek.

This rock laden sea ocean front is accessible by about a 20 min hike near Princeville and if you’re lucky, you may get a glimpse of sea turtles basking in the Queen’s sacred waters. You may also see locals swimming in the tide pool although it is not recommended for travelers. Conditions must be perfect for safely swimming in the bath. Tunnels Beach
Snorkelers, wind-surfers, kite boarders and beach goers will all have an incredible time at this famous beach in Kauai. There is plenty of room for everyone and boasts some of the best coastline sea-life on the Island. Grab some snorkel gear and head out to the shallows where you will see dozens or tropical fish, brain coral and sea turtles. Please be aware that standing on any part of the reef is not permitted or recommended to preserve this beautiful marine habitat. Years of irresponsible swimming and snorkeling has destroyed much of this reef and it desperately needs to regrow.

Polihale State Park
This once secret treasure is becoming a more and more known by travelers and tourists although still maintains its secluded heritage. It is a bit of a trek to get there and generally requires an SUV or 4x4 to access due to its road conditions but its bright orange beach line and magical sunsets make this likely the best beach experience in all of Kauai. Expert Tip: if headed to Polihale, plan to camp overnight so you can watch the sunset and wake up to the beautiful crashing waves against the sloped golden beachfront.

Hanalei Bay
Hanalei bay is another famous beach in kauai, mainly for its white powdery sands and it’s proximity to Hanalei town. Both he town and beach have amazing treasures to offer, including great restaurants, bars, shopping and relaxing. Expert Tip: If headed to the beach you must, must, must visit Pat’s Taco truck. They are some of the best tacos I have ever tasted in the world and as a taco lover that is saying a lot. Make sure to ask for Pat’s secret red sauce and douse it all over your favorite protein.

Wailua Falls
Wailua Falls is considered the most beautiful waterfall on the Island. Its two tiered formation and massive flow is jaw dropping. There is a convenient viewpoint of the falls right near the road and is easily accessible by any vehicle. Expert Tip: park at the view point and walk down until you reach the fence line. Look over the concrete barrier and you will see a path leading down into the jungle. Head down the path and you will be rewarded with a view that most will never see. However, be careful of the conditions and don’t attempt this hike if it has had heavy to moderate rain in the last two days. And no matter the conditions, don’t attempt this hike in flip-flops. Just don’t.

Fern Grotto
Fern Grotto just barely makes the list and only does because of its proximity to secret falls. Fern Grotto is the epitome of a tourist attraction. Where you could once walk up into the grotto and see the draping ferns hang from the mountain above, now you are only allowed access to the viewing platform. Secret falls is really the main attraction on this adventure. Instead of making a left at the fork of the river, make a right and head down until you reach a small landing site. Once you dismount, head down the path until you can hear the sounds of the distant falls and make your way toward them. Once you arrive you will find a stunning waterfall plummeting into a small lagoon where you can swim or relax on the surrounding rocks. This is a great day time trip as you will be shielded from the hot afternoon sun by rich rainforest. Expert Tip: Don’t plan a tour to the grotto. Instead rent a kayak and go at your own pace. As an added bonus, rent the kayak from Kamokila Hawaiian village, where you can get a glimpse of what life was like hundreds of years ago on this small Garden Island in Hawaii.
