CĂșrate
Spanish style tapas in a former 1927 bus depot. Reservations are recommended. We had the chistorra + chips (chorizo wrapped in fried chips), croquetas de jamón (fried ham and cheese), espårragos blancos (pickled asparagus with a light and fluffy mayonnaise), patatas bravas (fried poatatos in a spicy tomato and garlic sauce), buñuelos de bacalao (cod fritters) and pimientos de piquillo rellenos (Spanish goat cheese stuffed piquillo peppers.) It was all delicious!

Wicked Weed Brewing Pub
Brewpub specializing in west coast IPAs, open fermented Belgian beers, and barrel aged sours. This family friendly establishment houses a full service restaurant offering New American fare, a tasting room, bottle shop, the original 15 barrel brewery, and a spacious outdoor patio. I highly recommend the fried chicken sandwich! Be warned - beer flights not available on the weekends.

Green Man Brewery
Located in a 3-story, 20,000 square foot warehouse, Green Man is known for both it’s traditional English brews and trendy craft creations. The indoor/outdoor patio on the third floor is the place to be, with views of both Green Man’s production warehouse and the Blue Ridge Mountains!

The Funkatorium
An offshoot of Wicked Weed, focused on their sour and funky beer offerings. Full service restaurant and patio seating. The inside has a rustic feel that might make you feel like you’ve stepped into a medieval wine cellar.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
20 minutes outside of downtown Asheville, you can’t skip a trip to Sierra Nevada! The restaurant is first come, first serve and will most likely be busy if you’re there on the weekend, but the wait really isn’t bad (we expected an hour and a half for 10 people and only waited 30.) Explore the brewery while you wait, enjoying the 23 beers on tap in the Taproom, hanging out in the Beer Garden, and enjoying the gorgeous views in the Mills River Estate Garden. The restaurant serves up delicious, locally sourced tapas style plates - I highly recommend the ginger soy wings, duck fat fries, and the duck ramen. Sierra Nevada has some of my favorite craft brews - I LOVE Otra Vez and Hazy Little Thing - and while it‘s a much bigger and busier production than the other craft breweries you’ll experience in Asheville, it is completely worth the visit.

Malaprop's Bookstore/Cafe
Anytime I’m in town, I stop by Malaprop’s to go on a “blind date with a book.” Each book on the blind date bookshelf is wrapped in brown paper with descriptive words and phrases to help you choose your “date” according to your taste. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every book I’ve gotten so far!

Off The Wagon Dueling Piano Bar Asheville
I’m a sucker for a divey dueling pianos bar and Off The Wagon does not disappoint! They have their own signature cocktails, plus plenty of beers on tap. They don’t serve food, but you’re welcome to bring in food from other restaurants and bars or even have something delivered. The pianists are hilarious and will play pretty much any song (as long as they know it) for a tip!
